Regular Season Round 22: Queen's - Carleton 65-104
Date: January 24, 2014
Not a big story in a game when 6th ranked Golden Gaels (7-8) were outscored by top-ranked Ravens (15-0) in Kingston, ON 104-65 on Friday. The game without a history. Ravens led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Ravens outrebounded Golden Gaels 31-16 including 21 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 60.7 percentage. Ravens looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Golden Gaels' players. Quite impressive performance for the former international guard Philip Scrubb (190-92) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 6 assists. Forward Kevin Churchill (201) contributed with 14 points and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Ravens players scored in double figures. Forward Patrick Street (193) replied with 14 points and forward Greg Faulkner (196) added 12 points in the effort for Golden Gaels. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Ravens have an impressive 12-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 15-0 record. Golden Gaels lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the third place with eight games lost. Ravens will face Lions (#5) in Toronto, ON in the next round. Golden Gaels will play on the road against the league's second-placed Gee-Gees in Ottawa, ON and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
