Regular Season Round 20: Lethbridge - Saskatchewan 44-58

Date: January 24, 2014
Not a big story in a game when 6th ranked Lethbridge (5-10) was defeated at home by third ranked Huskies (12-3) 58-44 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Huskies. Lethbridge was better in third quarter 13-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Huskies forced 25 Lethbridge turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Kelsey Trulsrud (178) who helped to win the game recording 13 points and 6 rebounds and guard Desarae Hogberg (173) who added 12 points during the contest. Huskies' coach Lisa Thomaidis used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Kimberley Veldman (188) responded with 12 points and 8 rebounds and guard Ali Cameron (163) scored 8 points and 6 rebounds. Huskies keep a position of league leader, which they share with UFV and Western. Lethbridge lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth place with ten games lost. Huskies will have a break next round. Lethbridge will play again on the road against Huskies (#3) in Saskatoon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
