Regular Season Round 17: Spojnia - SIDEn Torun 44-64

1Liga top team - SIDEn Torun (16-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed fourteenth ranked Spojnia (3-14) in Stargard 64-44. The game without a history. SIDEn Torun led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Spojnia's 24. They outrebounded Spojnia 41-26 including a 32-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. SIDEn Torun players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Spojnia's players. Power forward Tomasz Wojdyla (200-77) orchestrated the victory by scoring 12 points and 9 rebounds. Aleks Perka (201-87, college: Rice) contributed with 17 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. Adrian Sulinski (188-89, agency: Promotex) answered with 13 points and power forward Lukasz Bodych (201-90, agency: Promotex) added 5 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Spojnia. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the tenth consecutive win for SIDEn Torun. They maintain first place with 16-1 record. Spojnia at the other side stay at the bottom position with 14 games lost. SIDEn Torun's next round opponent will be Wilki Morskie (#7) in Szczecin which should be theoretically another easy game. Spojnia will play on the road against Start Lublin (#8) and hope to win that game.
