Regular Season Round 16: Hitachi Cougars - Ebara Vickies 76-60

The game between closely ranked teams ended with tenth ranked Hitachi Cougars' (3-13) home victory over 11th ranked Ebara Vickies (1-15) in Hitachinaka 76-60 on Saturday. The game without a history. Hitachi Cougars led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The winners were led by guard Kasumi Takahashi (167-87) who scored that evening 15 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and center Kayoko Amano (180-89) supported her with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Five Hitachi Cougars players scored in double figures. Even 26 points and 9 rebounds by forward Yuki Morimoto (177-84) did not help to save the game for Ebara Vickies. Power forward Sayaka Komatsu (176-85) added 11 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Ebara Vickies' coach rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Hitachi Cougars maintains tenth position with 3-13 record. Ebara Vickies lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with 15 games lost. They share the position with Yamanashi QB. Hitachi Cougars will meet higher ranked Niigata (#7) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
