Rather expected game in Prince George, BC where 7th ranked Timberwolves (4-12) were crushed by fourth ranked Thunderbirds (8-7) 86-65 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Thunderbirds. Timberwolves was better in second period 19-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Timberwolves 42-27 including 27 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for forward Tommy Nixon (198) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 9 rebounds. Forward David Wagner (206-92) helped adding 12 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Charles Barton (193) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and British-Cameroonian forward Franck Kouagnia (201) scored 17 points and 6 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Thunderbirds have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to third place. Timberwolves lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 12 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
