Regular Season Round 25: Toyota Alvark - Hyogo S. 113-57

An interesting game for Toyota Alvark (20-8) which hosted in Tokyo 4th placed Hyogo S. (6-19). Second ranked Toyota Alvark had an easy win 113-57. The game without a history. Toyota Alvark led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Hyogo S.'s 34 and made 19-of-24 charity shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Toyota Alvark forced 22 Hyogo S. turnovers and outrebounded them 41-28 including 26 on the defensive glass. American forward Philip Ricci (202-80, college: Oregon St.) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. His fellow American import forward Jeff Gibbs (188-80, college: Otterbein) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. Five Toyota Alvark players scored in double figures. point guard Noriaki Dohara (178-89) produced 15 points and American swingman William Knight (196-79, college: UCLA) added 13 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Toyota Alvark have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion maintains second place with 20-8 record having six points less than leader Toshiba BT. Hyogo S. lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fourth position with 19 games lost. Toyota Alvark's next round opponent will be again Hyogo S. (#4) at home.
