Regular Season Round 23: Mount Royal - Victoria 63-80

Date: January 25, 2014
No shocking result in a game in Calgary, AB where first ranked Vikies (14-2) won against 5th ranked Cougars (7-8) 80-63 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Vikies. Cougars was better in fourth quarter 21-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for American swingman Terrell Evans (193) who led his team to a victory scoring 14 points and 5 rebounds. Center Chris McLaughlin (208) helped adding 13 points and 6 rebounds. Four Vikies players scored in double figures. Nigerian forward Oluwafemi Ogun (196) responded with 13 points and guard Jalen Gardener (183) scored 14 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Vikies have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 14-2 record, which they share with Ottawa and Alberta. Cougars lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with eight games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
