Regular Season Round 16: Breogan - Andorra 74-77

The most exciting game of round 16 in the LEB Gold took place in Lugo. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 4th ranked Leche Rio Breogan (11-6) to first ranked River Andorra (14-3) 77-74 on Saturday evening. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Leche Rio Breogan won third quarter 21-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Jordi Trias (207-80) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Marc Blanch (195-82) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Senegalese center Michel Diouf (208-89) replied with 23 points and 6 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and Pablo Almazan (203-89) added 14 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Leche Rio Breogan. Leche Rio Breogan's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. River Andorra have an impressive six-game winning streak. River Andorra maintains first position with 14-3 record. Leche Rio Breogan lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with six games lost. They share the position with Oviedo and Coruna. River Andorra will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Leche Rio Breogan will play again at home against the league's leader River Andorra (#1) and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
