No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Unitri (10-7) edged 10th ranked Mogi (8-10) in Uberlandia 79-76 on Saturday. However just three-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 3 points after three quarters before their 23-17 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Unitri forced 21 Mogi turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Mogi's players. The former international Lucas Cipolini (206-86, college: BYU-Hawaii) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. American Robert Day (197-82, college: W.Oregon) contributed with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Unitri players scored in double figures. Power forward Thomas Gehrke (203-82, college: UTEP) replied with 16 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and Nigerian-American power forward Jefferson Agba (209-80, college: Embry Riddle) added 7 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Mogi. Despite that victory Unitri went down to seventh position due to points difference. Mogi at the other side keeps the tenth place with ten games lost. Unitri will have a break next round. Mogi will play at home against Universo/Goiania (#16) and hope to win that game.
