The game between closely ranked teams ended with thirteenth ranked Correcaminos' (8-26) home victory over bottom-ranked Gansos (2-33) in Ciudad Victoria 103-99. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 23-21. But Gansos won second period 23-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Correcaminos made 24-of-28 charity shots (85.7 percent) during the game. 28 personal fouls committed by Gansos helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American players dominated the game. The best player for the winners was forward Rodney Alexander (201-87, college: Oklahoma City) who had a double-double by scoring 29 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!). point guard Marquis Ayala (178) chipped in 26 points. Five Correcaminos players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Ryan McCoy (183-87, college: La-Lafayette) who recorded 37 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and guard Harrison Smith (190, college: Texas Southern) added 18 points respectively. Gansos' coach tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Correcaminos moved-up to twelfth place. Gansos lost seventh consecutive game. They stay dead last with 33 lost games. Correcaminos' next round opponent will be Lechugueros (#13) in Leon. Gansos will play at home against Gigantes and hope to win that game.
