Very important is a road loss of second ranked Kalisz (10-6) against sixth ranked AZS UMK Torun (8-7) on Saturday night. Visiting Kalisz was defeated by AZS UMK Torun in Torun 62-52. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kalisz. The game was mostly controlled by AZS UMK Torun. Kalisz was better in second period 17-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Kalisz to just 2 points in third quarter. Newly promoted AZS UMK Torun maintains sixth position in Group A with 8-7 record. Kalisz at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the fourth place with six games lost. AZS UMK Torun will face higher ranked Notec (#3) in Inowroclaw in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Kalisz will play on the road against Basket Pila and hope to win that game.
