Regular Season Round 28: Iskra Svit - B.Bystrica 84-82

Sixth-ranked SKP Banska Bystrica (10-15) gave a tough game to fifth ranked Iskra Svit (15-10) on Saturday. Iskra Svit managed to secure only two-point victory 84-82. However their fans expected easier game. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of SKP Banska Bystrica. SKP Banska Bystrica trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 23-13 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 82-84 at the end of the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Wesley Channels (190-88, college: Austin Peay St.) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 8 assists and Latvian forward Martins Berkis (198-85, agency: TSS Management) who added 26 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Iskra Svit players scored in double figures. At the losing side the former international power forward Peter Dorazil (199-89) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds and American point guard Chris Lowe (182-87, college: Massachusetts, agency: KMG Sports Management) scored 17 points and 4 assists. SKP Banska Bystrica's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Iskra Svit maintains fifth position with 15-10 record. SKP Banska Bystrica at the other side keeps the sixth place with 15 games lost. Iskra Svit are looking forward to face Handlova (#7) on the road in the next round. SKP Banska Bystrica will play against the league's leader Inter Bratislava and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
