Regular Season Round 16: Castello - Guadalajara 86-61

Round 16 in LEB Silver means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Castellon where host Castello (9-6) crushed league's leader CB Guadalajara (10-5) 86-61 on Saturday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Castello. CB Guadalajara managed to win second period 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Castello forced 19 CB Guadalajara turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Castello especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. Nigerian-American power forward Olasumbo Atoyebi (203-87, college: Elon) fired 19 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Alberto Ausina (203-81) chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds. Five Castello players scored in double figures. Naturalized Argentinian forward Maximiliano Sole (198-88) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Eduardo Guillen (201-88) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Castello moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. CB Guadalajara at the other side dropped to the second position with five games lost. They share it with Prat. They were replaced at the leadership position by Fuenlabrada. CB Guadalajara will play next round against league's leader Fuenlabrada trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Castello will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
