Bottom-ranked Lille Metropole managed to get the second consecutive victory on Saturday night. This time they edged thirteenth-ranked Souffelweyersheim 82-81. The guests trailed by 11 points after three quarters before their 26-15 charge, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time and get a 1-point victory in overtime. Lille Metropole made 30-of-35 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game, while Souffelweyersheim only scored ten points from the stripe. Point guard Aurelien Rigaux (176-88) stepped up and scored 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and Cape Verdean-Portuguese forward Ivan Almeida (197-89, college: Stonehill) chipped in 10 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side American swingman Drake Reed (196-87, college: Austin Peay St., agency: KMG Sports Management) responded with 15 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import swingman Daviin Davis (193-85, college: Weber St.) scored 20 points. Newly promoted Souffelweyersheim keeps the thirteenth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Rouen and Boulazac. Lille Metropole will meet higher ranked Aix-Maurienne (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Souffelweyersheim will play against SPO Rouen (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
