The game between closely ranked teams ended with fifth ranked Chiba Jets' (7-21) home victory over 6th ranked Kumamoto V. (5-22) 58-54 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 10 points after first quarter, but they rallied back winning next two quarters and won the game by 4 points. Quite impressive performance for power forward Ryumo Ono (197-88) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 6 rebounds. American forward Alan Wiggins (206-85, college: USF) contributed with 10 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American forward DeVaughn Washington (202-89, college: Ohio, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) answered with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 21 rebounds and the other American import guard Lamont Jones (183, college: Iona) added 16 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Kumamoto V.Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Chiba Jets have a solid series of three victories in a row. Newly promoted Chiba Jets maintains fifth place with 7-21 record, which they share with Hitachi SR. Kumamoto V. at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the sixth position with 22 games lost. Chiba Jets will face again Kumamoto V. (#6) at home in the next round.
