Second-ranked Riviera Gdynia (6-15) made lots of trouble for Basket ROW (11-10) on Saturday. The visitors from Rybnik managed to secure only two-point victory 61-59. However their fans expected easier game. The guests trailed by 10 points after three quarters before their 16-4 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Basket ROW dominated on the defensive end, holding Riviera Gdynia to just 4 points in fourth quarter. The best player for the winners was American guard Rebecca Harris (176-86, college: Illinois) who scored 19 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Anna Kuncewicz (186-88, agency: Promotex) chipped in 10 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Natalia Malaszewska (178-84, agency: Promotex) produced 13 points and 7 assists and power forward Malgorzata Misiuk (184-91) added 11 points and 11 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Riviera Gdynia's coach Wadim Czeczuro rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Basket ROW are looking forward to face Widzew (#3) in Lodz in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Riviera Gdynia will play at home against MKS Konin and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
