Bottom-ranked Zamarat managed to get a third victory, breaking the six-game losing streak on Saturday night. This time they won against fifth-ranked Cadi ICG S. in Seu D'urgell 70-56. The game was mostly controlled by Zamarat. Cadi ICG S. managed to win third quarter 16-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Zamarat won last quarter 20-8. Zamarat outrebounded Cadi ICG S. 44-26 including a 29-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. American swingman Shameka Christon (186-82, college: Arkansas, agency: Josep and Nicolas) notched 24 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and Slovenian center Sandra Pirsic (197-84) supported her with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Even 10 points and 5 rebounds by American swingman Aja Parham (183-84, college: Boston Coll.) did not help to save the game for Cadi ICG S.. point guard Maria Asurmendi (168-86) added 9 points and 4 assists for the hosts. Zamarat maintains twelfth position with 3-11 record. Loser Cadi ICG S. dropped to the seventh place with eight games lost. They share the position with Mann Filter and Conquero. Zamarat will meet at home higher ranked Gran Canaria (#3) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
