Twelfth-ranked Stabill Jezioro (3-13) made lots of trouble for third ranked Trefl Sopot (12-4) in Tarnobrzeg on Saturday. The visitors from Sopot managed to secure only three-point victory 77-74. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 21-17 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Trefl Sopot made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. American center Bertengeh Gadri-Nicholson (208-83, college: Denver) fired 19 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. The former international Pawel Leonczyk (202-86) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds. Four Trefl Sopot players scored in double figures. Trefl Sopot's coach Darius Maskoliunas used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (203-90, college: Oklahoma) produced 22 points and 5 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Chaisson Allen (192-89, college: Northeastern) added 20 points respectively for lost side. Trefl Sopot moved-up to second place, which they share with PGE Turow. Stabill Jezioro lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 13 games lost. Trefl Sopot will face Polpharma (#11) in Starogard in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Stabill Jezioro will play on the road against AZS Koszalin and hope to win that game.
