Tenth-ranked Pais Vasco (5-9) used its home court advantage to challenge first ranked Perfumerias Avenida (12-2) in San Sebastian on Saturday. The visitors from Salamanca managed to secure only three-point victory 76-73. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 7 points after three quarters before their 31-21 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Montenegrin-American swingman Eshaya Murphy (181-85, college: USC) orchestrated the victory by scoring 31 points and 6 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). American forward Angelica Robinson (197-87, college: Georgia) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. point guard Maria Gomez (170-82) replied with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 8 rebounds and 11 assists and center Miriam Foraste (190-91, agency: Regeneracom Sports) added 23 points and 4 steals in the effort for Pais Vasco. Perfumerias Avenida have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 12-2 record. Newly promoted Pais Vasco keeps the tenth place with nine games lost. Perfumerias Avenida are looking forward to face league's second-placed Rivas Ecopolis at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Pais Vasco will play against Ibaizabal (#11) in Galdakao and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
