Regular Season Round 12: KK Split - Alkar Sinj 79-68

There was a change at the A1 leadership position after last games. Round 12 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Alkar Sinj (8-4). They were defeated by eighth ranked KK Split (4-8) 79-68 on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Alkar Sinj. The game was mostly controlled by KK Split. Alkar Sinj managed to win third quarter 26-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. KK Split forced 22 Alkar Sinj turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Ivan Mimica (190-80, agency: XL Basketball Agency) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 4 assists and the former international guard Srdan Subotic (190-80) who added 17 points and 4 assists during the contest. Four KK Split players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Ivan Mikulic (194-91) with 22 points and guard Luka Zitko (196-81) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Alkar Sinj's coach Damir Milacic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. KK Split moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Krizevci. Alkar Sinj at the other side dropped to the second position with four games lost. They share it with Zabok and GKK Sibenik. They were replaced at the leadership position by Kvarner 2010. Alkar Sinj will play next round against strong GKK Sibenik trying to make it back to the top of the standings. KK Split will try to continue on its current victory against eighth ranked Krizevci on the road.
