Regular Season Round 16: Denso Iris - Yamanashi QB 89-59

Very expected game when 12th ranked Yamanashi QB (1-15) was smashed by fourth ranked Denso Iris (13-3) in Kariya 89-59 on Saturday. The game without a history. Denso Iris led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Denso Iris outrebounded Yamanashi QB 35-23 including a 29-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Denso Iris especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 62.5 percentage. The winners were led by the former international power forward Maki Takada (183-89) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and international guard Kumiko Oba (169-88) supported her with 11 points and 5 assists. Four Denso Iris players scored in double figures. Even 18 points and 7 assists by guard Kasumi Yagi (165-92) did not help to save the game for Yamanashi QB. Hatanaka Miho (177-85) added 12 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Denso Iris have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Fujitsu RW. Yamanashi QB lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. They share it with Ebara Vickies. Denso Iris will meet league's second-placed Chanson V-M in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Yamanashi QB will play against Mitsubishi K. (#6) and hope to win that game.
