The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Shanxi Rui Flame (18-2) on the court of third ranked Beijing Great Wall on Saturday night. Visitors were rolled over by Beijing Great Wall 102-75. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Shanxi Rui Flame. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Beijing Great Wall made 25-of-27 free shots (92.6 percent) during the game, while Shanxi Rui Flame only scored nine points from the stripe. Beijing Great Wall had a 22-11 advantage in offensive rebounds. Australian center Elizabeth Cambage (203-91) orchestrated the victory by scoring 40 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds (perfect from the field making all fourteen shots !!!). Forward Ting Shao (183-89) contributed with 22 points for the winners. American Maya Moore (183-89, college: Connecticut) replied with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals and Japanese guard Yuko Oga (170-82) added 13 points in the effort for Shanxi Rui Flame. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Beijing Great Wall have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Shanghai. Newly promoted Shanxi Rui Flame still keeps top position with two games lost. Beijing Great Wall is looking forward to face Heilongjiang Chenneng (#6) in Harbin in the next round. Shanxi Rui Flame will play on the road against the league's second-placed Shanghai Octopus (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
