Regular Season Round 23: TRU - TWU 81-74

Date: January 25, 2014
Everything could happen in Kamloops, BC at the game between two tied teams. Both fifth ranked Wolfpack and 6th ranked Spartans had identical 7-8 record. This time Wolfpack used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Langley, BC 81-74 on Saturday night. Spartans trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 24-20 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 74-81 at the end of the game. It was a great evening for American guard Ta-Quan Zimmerman (188, college: Monroe CC) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Reese Pribilsky (183) helped adding 14 points and 5 assists. Forward Denny McDonald (198) responded with 20 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and guard Kelvin Smith (198) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Spartans' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Wolfpack (8-8) moved-up to fourth place, which they share with York. Loser Spartans dropped to the third position with nine games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
