An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Tokyo. Second ranked Toyota Alvark faced 4th ranked Hyogo S.. Host Toyota Alvark (21-8) defeated guests from Hyogo (6-20) 90-75. The game without a history. Toyota Alvark led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 18-of-22 charity shots (81.8 percent) during the game. American forward Jeff Gibbs (188-80, college: Otterbein) notched 27 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and international power forward Kosuke Takeuchi (206-85) supported him with 12 points and 6 rebounds. Toyota Alvark's coach Don Beck used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 26 points and 8 rebounds by American forward Carl Hall (203-89, college: Wichita St.) did not help to save the game for Hyogo S.. His fellow American import swingman William Knight (196-79, college: UCLA) added 23 points and 9 rebounds for the guests. Toyota Alvark have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 21-8 record having just two points less than leader Aishin SH. Hyogo S. lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fourth place with 20 games lost. Toyota Alvark's next round opponent will be Kumamoto V. (#6) on the road. Hyogo S. will play against Hokkaido L. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
