Regular Season Round 18: Lucca - Ravenna 70-68

A very interesting game took place in Lucca. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 7th ranked Ravenna (9-9) to fourth ranked Lucca (11-7) 70-68 on Sunday evening. It looked good early as Ravenna took an 16-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Lucca took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 2 points. They shot 66.7 percent from the field and made 68-of-71 charity shots (95.8 percent) during the game. Lucca outrebounded Ravenna 107-64 including a 39-23 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three nailing 47 long-distance shots on high 75.8 percentage. Lucca brought some defensive toughness making 17 blocks. 80 personal fouls committed by Ravenna helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American forward Demetrius Conger (198-90, college: St.Bonaventure) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds. The other American import point guard Michael Deloach (183-86, college: Norfolk St.) chipped in 15 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Adam Sollazzo (198-90, college: E.Tenn.St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Eugenio Rivali (178-86) added 12 points and 5 assists respectively. Lucca moved-up to third place, which they share with Matera and Omegna. Ravenna lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the ninth position with nine games lost. Lucca's next round opponent will be Treviglio (#7) on the road. Ravenna will play against Chieti and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
