Very expected game when 16th ranked Bari (1-17) was smashed on the road by eighth ranked Roseto (10-8) 118-62 on Sunday. The game without a history. Roseto led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They were well out of reach of Bari shooting 73.3 percent from the field and made 96-of-98 free shots (98.0 percent) during the game, while Bari only scored 61 points from the stripe. Roseto forced 26 Bari turnovers and outrebounded them 136-92 including a 50-35 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 82 long-distance shots on high 88.2 percentage. Roseto looked well-organized offensively handing out 49 assists comparing to just 20 passes made by Bari's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Roseto made 24 blocks. Bari was plagued by 76 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American guard Alex Legion (195-88, college: FIU) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds. Swingman Salvatore Genovese (198-87, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 23 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Four Roseto players scored in double figures. Romanian forward Zaharie Alin Giani (200-94) replied with 27 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks and power forward Francesco Infante (200-92) added 21 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Bari. Bari's coach Francesco Raho gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Roseto moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Treviglio and P.Mantovana. Bari lost twelfth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 17 lost games. Roseto will face P.Mantovana (#8) in Mirandola in the next round. Bari will play at home against the league's leader Agrigento (#1) and hope to win that game.
