Rather predictable result when tenth ranked Apollon Patras (6-9) beat at home 13th ranked Ikaros (4-11) 71-65 on Sunday. Ikaros was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. The best player for the winners was American forward Jeremiah Wilson (205-88, college: Tarleton St.) who scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Lenny Daniel (203-87, college: CS Northridge) chipped in 9 points and 12 rebounds. Four Apollon Patras players scored in double figures. Apollon Patras' coach Nikos Vetoulas used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was U.S. Virgin Islands-Puerto Rican forward Ivan Aska (200-90, college: Murray St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds and American swingman Dominique Sutton (195-86, college: N.C.Central) added 14 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Apollon Patras moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 3 other teams. Ikaros at the other side keeps the thirteenth position with 11 games lost. Apollon Patras will face Kolossos (#10) in Rodou in the next round.
