There was no surprise when 9th ranked Basic-Fit Brussels (3-14) were defeated on the road by seventh ranked Leuven Bears (8-9) 96-85 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 96-85. Basic-Fit Brussels were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American guard Tu Holloway (182-89, college: Xavier, agency: R.H.Consultancy) who scored 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import guard Jason Westrol (191-88, college: Bentley) chipped in 24 points and 4 steals. Leuven Bears' coach Jurgen Van Meerbeeck used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Brandon Ubel (208-91, college: Nebraska) produced 24 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international center Aleksander Lichodzijewski (202-84) added 12 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for the guests.
