Regular Season Round 28: Guangdong ST - Qingdao E. 128-116

Very predictable result in Hangzhou where seventh ranked Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (17-11) defeated bottom-ranked Qingdao Eagles (4-24) 128-116 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Zhejiang Guangsha Lions. Qingdao Eagles was better in third quarter 38-30. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Jonathan Gibson (188-87, college: N.Mexico St., agency: Three Eye Sports) who helped to win the game recording 37 points (!!!) and 7 assists and the other American import center Chris Johnson (210-85, college: LSU) who added 18 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Five Zhejiang Guangsha Lions players scored in double figures. At the losing side Palestinian center Sani Sakakini (204-88) responded with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 19 rebounds and Nigerian-American point guard Josh-Emmanuel Akognon (180-86, college: CS Fullerton) scored 42 points (!!!) and 6 assists. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Shanghai S. Loser Qingdao Eagles stay dead last with 24 lost games. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions will face Jiangsu Dragons (#11) in Nanjing in the next round where they are favorite. Qingdao Eagles will play at home against the league's leader Guandong Tigers (#1) and hope to win that game.
