SerieA top team - Cantu (12-5) added another victory to their record. This time they beat sixth ranked Banco di Srd (10-7) 99-95. Banco di Srd was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Cantu players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. American guard Joe Ragland (182-89, college: Wichita St.) stepped up and scored 24 points and 6 assists for the winners and Jamaican-American power forward Adrian Uter (200-84, college: Hofstra) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds. Five Cantu players scored in double figures. American forward Drew Gordon (205-90, college: N.Mexico) responded with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) and the other American import forward Caleb Green (203-85, college: ORU) scored 22 points and 5 rebounds. Banco di Srd's coach Romeo Sacchetti tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Cantu maintains first place with 12-5 record, which they share with Enel Brindisi and EA7 Armani. Banco di Srd at the other side keeps the sixth position with seven games lost. Cantu will play against bottom-ranked VL Pesaro (#16) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Banco di Srd will play against Tuscany Pistoia (#11) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
