Regular Season Round 14: Keflavik - Njardvik 105-84

An interesting game for Keflavik (13-1) which hosted in Keflavik 4th ranked Njardvik (9-5). Second ranked Keflavik had an easy win 105-84. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Njardvik. The game was mostly controlled by Keflavik. Njardvik managed to win second period 24-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. Keflavik looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Njardvik's players. American forward Michael Craion (195-89, college: ORU) orchestrated the victory by scoring 31 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks. The former international guard Darrel Lewis (192-76, college: Lincoln, MO, agency: Two Points) contributed with 24 points and 7 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) for the winners. Four Keflavik players scored in double figures. International point guard Elvar Fridriksson (180-94) replied with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international Logi Gunnarsson (190-81) added 25 points in the effort for Njardvik. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Keflavik have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with KR. Njardvik at the other side keeps the fourth place with five games lost. Keflavik is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Valur (#12) in Reykjavik in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Njardvik will play at home against Thor Thorl (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
