There was no surprise in Tarshicha where 14th ranked Hod Hasharon (2-14) was defeated by eighth ranked Hapoel Migd.H. (8-8) 78-73 on Tuesday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Hod Hasharon was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Puerto Rican forward Gilberto Clavell (200-89, college: Sam Houston St., agency: KMG Sports Management) fired a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. American swingman Darington Hobson (201-87, college: N.Mexico) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Hapoel Migd.H. players scored in double figures. American guard Anthony Fisher (191-86) produced 23 points and his fellow American import power forward Louis Johnson (206-86, college: W.Illinois) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Hod Hasharon's coach Avner Yeor tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Hapoel Migd.H. moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Elizur Ashkelon and Kiryat Tivon. Loser Hod Hasharon stay at the bottom position with 14 games lost. Hapoel Migd.H. will face Ironi Ashkelon (#8) on the road in the next round. Hod Hasharon will play against Kiryat Tivon (#7) in Kiryat Tivon and hope to win that game.
