Regular Season Round 24: Guelph - Western 72-74

A very close game took place in Guelph, ON between Mustangs and Gryphons. Fourth ranked Mustangs (7-10) got a very close victory on the road over 6th ranked Gryphons (5-12). Mustangs managed to escape with a 2-point win 74-72 on Wednesday evening. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 24-19. But Gryphons won second period 14-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Mustangs made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Greg Morrow (190) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 9 rebounds and guard George Johnson (196) who added 13 points during the contest. Four Mustangs players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Daniel Dooley (186) with 15 points and swingman Andrew Grant (193) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Gryphons' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Mustangs moved-up to third place, which they share with Laurier. Loser Gryphons keep the sixth position with 12 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
