Regular Season Round 17: Maccabi R.Hen - Maccabi Ashdod 61-66

An interesting game for Maccabi Ashdod (13-2) which played road game in Ramat Hen against 3rd placed Maccabi Ramat Hen (10-6). Second ranked Maccabi Ashdod managed to get a 5-point victory 66-61. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Maccabi Ramat Hen. Maccabi Ramat Hen was ahead by 7 points after three quarters before a 23-11 charge of Maccabi Ashdod, which allowed them to win the game. American players dominated the game. Forward Tiffany Jackson (191-85, college: Texas) stepped up and scored 24 points and 9 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winners and power forward Danielle Adams (185-89, college: Texas A&M) chipped in 11 points and 8 rebounds. Swingman Karima Christmas (182-89, college: Duke) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds and Ashley Shields (180-85, college: SW Tenn.St.CC) scored 21 points, 5 assists and 5 steals. Maccabi Ashdod have an impressive series of eleven victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Elitzur Ramla. Maccabi Ramat Hen at the other side keeps the third place with six games lost. Maccabi Ashdod will play against Elitzur Holon (#7) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Maccabi Ramat Hen will have a break next round.
