Second Stage Round 15: Argentino - Quimsa 77-79

Important game to mention about took place in Junin. Eleventh ranked Quimsa (7-8) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 14th ranked Argentino (4-11) 79-77 on Friday evening. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 13-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 79-77. Quimsa made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for British-American Darren Phillip (201-78, college: Fairfield) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points and 7 rebounds. Swingman Fernando Funes (193-83) helped adding 15 points and 5 rebounds. Four Quimsa players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American power forward Anthony Myles (206-82, college: Xavier, agency: KMG Sports Management) with 19 points and point guard Lucas Perez (185-87) scored 15 points. Quimsa moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Argentino at the other side keeps the fourteenth position with 11 games lost. Quimsa will face league's second-placed Penarol in Mar del Plata in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Argentino will play at home against Atenas (#7) and hope to win that game.
