Regular Season Round 23: UBC - Lethbridge 68-55

There was no surprise when 7th ranked Lethbridge (5-12) lost to second ranked UBC (12-5) in Vancouver 55-68 on Friday. The game without a history. UBC led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 21 Lethbridge turnovers. Forward Harleen Sidhu (188-90, college: Nebraska) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Adrienne Parkin (183) contributed with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four UBC players scored in double figures. UBC's coach Deb Huband used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Kimberley Veldman (188) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds and guard Katlyn Olsen (168) added 6 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Lethbridge. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for UBC. They maintain second place with 12-5 record having just -13 point less than leader Windsor, which they share with Victoria. Lethbridge lost their fifth game in a row. They dropped to the sixth position with 12 games lost. UBC will face Calgary (#4) in Exshaw in the next round. Lethbridge will play at home against Vikes and hope to win that game.
