Important game to mention about took place in Sopot. Second ranked Nowa Sol (11-3) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 5th ranked Trefl II Sopot (9-7) 59-56 on Saturday evening. Trefl II Sopot was ahead by 5 points after three quarters before a 19-11 charge of Nowa Sol, which allowed them to win the game. They made 17-of-22 charity shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Marcin Chodkiewicz (200-82, agency: Promotex) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and Radoslaw Trubacz (196-94) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds. Nowa Sol's coach Boguslaw Onufrowicz allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Lukasz Jaskiewicz (202-92) responded with 13 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Artur Wlodarczyk (181-96) scored 9 points. Newly promoted Nowa Sol maintains second place in Group A with 11-3 record having five points less than leader SKK Siedlce. Trefl II Sopot at the other side keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. Nowa Sol will play against Polonia W-wa (#8) in Warszawa in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Trefl II Sopot will play on the road against Kalisz and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
