Third-ranked Pogon Prudnik (11-6) was very close to win a game against second ranked GTK Gliwice (16-1) on Saturday. GTK Gliwice managed to secure only three-point victory 80-77. However their fans expected easier game. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Pogon Prudnik. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 80-77. GTK Gliwice made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. GTK Gliwice outrebounded Pogon Prudnik 35-19 including a 28-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. GTK Gliwice have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They keep a position of Group B leader, which they share with GKS Tychy. Loser Pogon Prudnik dropped to the fourth place with six games lost. GTK Gliwice will meet Gimbasket Wroclaw (#12) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Pogon Prudnik will play against Sudety (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
