There was a surprise result when eighth ranked Levice (5-22) won against at home higher ranked Prievidza (18-8) 73-61 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 5 points after three quarters before their 29-12 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Levice outrebounded Prievidza 50-28 including a 34-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Prievidza was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American center Elijah Obade (206-91, college: Millersville) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 17 rebounds. The other American import guard Brandon Lockhart (185-90, college: Drury) contributed with 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Corey Jefferson (181-85, college: Texas St.) replied with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and British swingman Paul Guede (195-87, college: Portland St., agency: Interperformances) added 10 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Prievidza. Levice maintains eighth position with 5-22 record. Loser Prievidza keeps the third place with eight games lost. Levice will face league's second-placed Nitra in Nitra in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Prievidza will play at home against SKP Banska Bystrica and hope to win that game.
