Second Stage Round 3: Artego Bydg. - Wisla Krakow 69-71

Third-ranked Artego Bydg. (13-8) used its home court advantage to challenge Wisla Krakow (20-1) in Bydgoszcz on Saturday. The visitors from Krakow managed to secure only two-point victory 71-69. However their fans expected easier game. Wisla Krakow dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Artego Bydg.'s 34. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Artego Bydg.'s players. It was a good game for American center Jantel Lavender (191-88, college: Ohio St.) who led her team to a victory with 20 points and 8 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Hungarian-American guard Allie Quigley (178-86, college: De Paul) contributed with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American center Jessica Lawson (191-86, college: S.Florida) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 16 rebounds and the other American import guard Leah Metcalf (170-83, college: N.Carolina) added 17 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Artego Bydg.Wisla Krakow are looking forward to face Wilki Morskie (#6) in Szczecin in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Artego Bydg. will play at home against CCC Polkowice and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
