Regular Season Round 12: Al-Qazeres - Valladolid 78-59

LF2 top team - Al-Qazeres (11-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed twelfth ranked Universidad de Valladolid (0-12) in Caceres 78-59. The game was mostly controlled by Al-Qazeres. Universidad de Valladolid was better in third quarter 25-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Al-Qazeres dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Universidad de Valladolid's 34. They outrebounded Universidad de Valladolid 41-21 including a 16-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a quality performance of American forward Callan Taylor (182-90, college: Sacred Heart) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and Chilean center Tatiana Gomez (193-81, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who added 18 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) during the contest. The best for the losing side was point guard Cristina Salinas (162-93) with 18 points and guard Paula Vicente (175-96) scored 16 points. Al-Qazeres have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group A with 11-1 record, which they share with Ensino and Ferrol. Universidad de Valladolid at the other side still closes the standings with 12 games lost. Al-Qazeres will play against Cortegada (#5) in Vilagarcia Arousa in the next round. Universidad de Valladolid will play at home against Universitario de Ferrol (#3) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
