Regular Season Round 26: Mount Royal - Saskatchewan 58-81

Date: February 1, 2014
Everything went according to plan in Calgary, AB where second ranked Huskies (14-4) outscored 6th ranked Cougars (7-10) 81-58 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Huskies. Cougars was better in third quarter 21-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Huskies forced 20 Cougars turnovers. American point guard Stephon Lamar (184, college: Pacific) scored 26 points and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and guard Ben Baker (191) chipped in 21 points and 6 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) during the contest. Guard Jared Cornish (190) responded with 17 points and 5 rebounds and forward Kyle Wilson (198) scored 9 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Huskies maintains second position with 14-4 record having four points less than leader McMaster. Cougars lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with ten games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
