A very interesting game took place in Madrid. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked ASEFA Estudiantes (5-7) to ninth ranked Dist.Olimpico (5-7) 67-64 in the fight for the sixth place. ASEFA Estudiantes was ahead by 8 points after three quarters before a 20-9 charge of Dist.Olimpico, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was Maria Villar who scored 18 points. Center Monica Garrido (185-82, agency: Josep and Nicolas) chipped in 8 points and 10 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was center Elena Diaz (188-92) who recorded 23 points and 7 rebounds and center Mariana Gonzalez (187-88) added 8 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Dist.Olimpico moved-up to sixth place in Group B, which they share with Estudiantes. Dist.Olimpico's next round opponent will be higher ranked Segle XXI (#5) in Barcelona and it may be quite challenging game.
