Regular Season Round 26: Winnipeg - TRU 66-67

Date: February 1, 2014
Important game to mention about took place in Winnipeg, MB. Third ranked Wolfpack (10-8) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging one of their biggest challengers Wesmen (12-6) 67-66 in the fight for the third place. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Wesmen. Wesmen was ahead by 1 point after three quarters before a 17-15 charge of Wolfpack, which allowed them to win the game. Center Josh Wolfram (208-92) notched a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds to lead the effort and forward Tallon Milne (203, college: Simon Fraser) supported him with 21 points (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). Even 12 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists by American forward Steven Wesley (196, college: E.Washington) did not help to save the game for Wesmen. His fellow American import guard Christopher Baxter (188) added 15 points for the hosts. Wesmen's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Wolfpack have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 10-8 record having eight points less than leader McMaster, which they share with York. Wesmen at the other side keeps the third place with six games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
