The game between closely ranked teams ended with second-ranked Gaiters' (6-4) road loss to first ranked Redmen (8-2) 48-55 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Gaiters won third quarter 16-8. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Gaiters were plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Swingman Vincent Dufort (196) had a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Simon Bibeau (188-91) chipped in 15 points during the contest. point guard Jonathan Bermillo (183) responded with 10 points and 6 rebounds and center Mike Andrews (208) scored 11 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Redmen have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 8-2 record. Gaiters lost third consecutive game. They keep the second place with four games lost. Redmen will face Citadines (#5) in Montreal, QC in the next round.
