Regular Season Round 27: Aishin SH - Chiba Jets 91-69

NBL top team - Aishin Sea Horses (27-3) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed fifth ranked Chiba Jets (8-22) in Kariya 91-69. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Chiba Jets. They outrebounded Chiba Jets 42-25 including a 32-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was international swingman Kosuke Kanamaru (193-89) who scored 31 points. American power forward Gavin Edwards (206-88, college: Connecticut) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Thomas Kennedy (201-87, college: Detroit Mercy) who recorded 27 points and the other American import forward Alan Wiggins (206-85, college: USF) added 13 points and 12 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Aishin Sea Horses maintains first place with 27-3 record. Newly promoted Chiba Jets keep the fifth position with 22 games lost. Aishin Sea Horses' next round opponent will be Hitachi Sunrockers (#6) in Tokyo which should be theoretically another easy game. Chiba Jets will play on the road against Mitsubishi Dolphins in Nagoya and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
