Regular Season Round 19: Quimper - Cognac 79-76

A very close game took place in Quimper between Quimper UJAP and Cognac BB. Eleventh ranked Quimper UJAP (9-10) got a very close home victory over 12th ranked Cognac BB (7-12). Quimper UJAP managed to escape with a 3-point win 79-76 on Saturday evening. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Cognac BB won third quarter 21-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Quimper UJAP made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for Romain Gregoire (201-91) who led his team to a victory scoring 9 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Fabien Herard (198-79) helped adding 13 points. At the losing side Serbian forward Dejan Sencanski (198-84, college: Abil.Christian) responded with 19 points and forward Samba Dia (201-84, college: West Plains JC) scored 20 points. Quimper UJAP moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Chartres and Rueil. Loser Cognac BB keeps the twelfth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Lourdes and Blois. Quimper UJAP will meet Saint-Brieuc (#16) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Cognac BB will play against La Rochelle (#7) and hope to secure a win.
