Regular Season Round 33: Iwate Big Bulls - Okinawa GK 83-76

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Okinawa GK (23-4) on the court of third ranked Iwate Big Bulls on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Iwate Big Bulls 83-76. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Okinawa GK. 24 personal fouls committed by Okinawa GK helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American-Panamanian forward Leonardo Pomare (203-86, college: San Diego) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 21 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) for the winners and Kenichi Takahashi (181-80) chipped in 15 points. Iwate Big Bulls' coach Dai Oketani used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Trinidad and Tobago power forward Kibwe Trim (208-84, college: Sacred Heart) with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Draelon Burns (194-85, college: De Paul) scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. Four Okinawa GK players scored in double figures. Iwate Big Bulls (20-7) have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain third place having just three points less than leader Akita NH, which they share with Shinshu BW. Okinawa GK at the other side still keeps top position with four games lost. Iwate Big Bulls is again looking forward to face league's leader Okinawa GK at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Okinawa GK will have a break next round.
