Regular Season Round 30: Iskra Svit - Inter Bratislava 67-70

No shocking result in a game when first ranked Inter Bratislava (22-5) edged on the road 5th ranked Iskra Svit (15-12) 70-67 on Saturday. Iskra Svit trailed by 19 points at halftime and as many as 20 after three quarters before a 21-4 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 67-70 at the end of the game. It was a good game for Czech center Ondrej Starosta (215-79) who led his team to a victory with 13 points and 8 rebounds. American guard Derek Williams (185-85, college: SMU, agency: IBS) contributed with 6 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. American center Tyrone McNeal (213-85) replied with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Wesley Channels (190-88, college: Austin Peay St.) added 8 points, 7 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Iskra Svit. Inter Bratislava have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 22-5 record. Iskra Svit at the other side keeps the fifth place with 12 games lost. Inter Bratislava will face Rieker KN (#4) in Komarno in the next round. Iskra Svit will play on the road against Nova Ves and hope to win that game.
