Regular Season Round 17: Slask Wroclaw - Rosa Radom 88-90 OT

Slask Wroclaw (#7) forced the game against Rosa Radom (#6) into an overtime, but lost by two points 88-90 on Saturday night. The game took place in Wroclaw. But the guests from Radom were better at the end. The guests were tied at the half and again at the end of regular time. But they managed to win overtime period 7-13. Strangely Slask Wroclaw outrebounded Rosa Radom 49-37 including a 18-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Slask Wroclaw was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. American center Kirk Archibeque (205-84, college: Fort Lewis) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points and 8 rebounds. The former international Lukasz Majewski (198-82) contributed with 15 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Rosa Radom players scored in double figures. American point guard Danny Gibson (177-84, college: S.Indiana) answered with 29 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and the other American import center Paul Miller (208-82, college: Wichita St.) added 20 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Slask Wroclaw. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Rosa Radom maintains sixth place with 9-8 record. Newly promoted Slask Wroclaw keeps the seventh position with nine games lost. Rosa Radom will face Asseco (#8) in Gdynia in the next round. Slask Wroclaw will play on the road against the league's leader Stelmet ZG in Zielona Gora and hope to win that game.
